Hannah was abandoned at birth. She was found under a bridge and placed at Christine Revell Children’s Home, where Janine Fabe was a volunteer. After taking her home for a weekend, The Fabe family promptly fell in love with her! They knew she was the perfect fit for their family. After two years of fostering Hannah, the Fabe’s adopted her.
Hannah is an intelligent, fun loving, well-adjusted little girl. She has a kind heart and soft nature. She is very active with the kids placed in Hannah’s Place of Safety. Her heart’s desire is for every child to have the same story of love and victory as she does.
For Janine, the tug in her heart to make a difference in the lives of children grew too strong to ignore. In 2016, she and husband Dion, opened their home to foster care.
Vulnerable children arrive at Hannah’s with a variety of issues viz. neglect, abuse, drug withdrawal, malnutrition and illness. The carer’s see to their every need while keeping the Department of Social Development informed of their progress.
Hannah’s operate on the principle that Love Never Fails! The aim is to restore their love, faith, hope and dreams and prepare them for permanent homes. Our greatest joy is to see their smiles return, light in their eyes and the kids playing as if they don’t have a care in the world!
Children are placed at Hannah’s by the Department of Social Development. The commitment to each child is:
- Welcome each child with love and treat them as a member of the family.
- Provide medical, dental and emotional support to help them heal physically, emotionally and spiritually.
- Ensure each child feels safe and secure.
- Spend quality time with each child helping them to learn to trust in adults and restore their self-confidence.
- Work diligently to prepare the child for their “forever” home.
