Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Liam McCreedy, says they re-engineered their app a few times since the start of lockdown, and have seen a 90% increase in app downloads, demonstrating the influx of at home delivery services, especially as the second wave of COVID-19 intensifies.

“Towards the end of March, we adapted our alcohol delivery service to include Woolworths groceries and restaurant meals for in-home dining. Now, from 17 December onwards, we are offering consumers their very own personal shoppers in all the major Dis-Chem stores to provide an on-demand delivery of their personal hygiene and unscheduled medicines.”

He says the app supports Dis-Chem’s online store by offering delivery within an hour, or close to, without a one- or two-day delay as had been the case in the past.

“Our service is convenient, personal and products are charged exactly as per in-store prices. Quench’s in-store shoppers will personally collect a consumers’ goods and liaise with the drivers for safe and efficient delivery, all whilst adhering to stringent COVID-19 compliance.”

According to Saul Saltzman, executive director at Dis-Chem, the group has seen a significant spike in customer demand for online purchasing and convenience in recent months, as evident in the recent remarkable growth of Dis-Chem’s online store from March to August.

“Consumer demand for speed and convenience is growing exponentially and our new partnership with Quench allows us to further meet customer requirements for quick turnaround times.”

Quench currently deliveries in the following metropolitan areas, with expansion planned for 2021 – Greater Cape Town area, Cape Winelands, George, Hermanus,  Ballito, Umhlanga, Johannesburg and Pretoria. They are also finalising arrangements to include prescription medicines to be delivered for Dis-Chem consumers.

The app is super easy to navigate, and can be downloaded from Google Play and Apple Stores.
