“Everything begins with a story – start yours with us”
Seven Sisters Vineyards
They left the tranquility of their sleepy town at a very early age when the family was evicted from their home. They yearned to return but were not able to do so given the unfavorable circumstances of the time. It was in 2005 that the Brutus sisters and brother were reunited and began working towards realizing their vision of creating Seven Sisters Wines.
She quickly found that; in order to start a successful wine company as black women leaders in South Africa, they would have to find ways to operate outside of the established infrastructure. Like many women leaders, when they do not see a path they could follow, they make space for themselves and change the landscape all together. Operating as one of the few 100% black-women owned wine estates in South Africa Seven Sisters Vineyards is a pioneer in the transformation of the wine industry.
Today, Seven Sisters Vineyards is an established farm which produces Chardonnay and Shiraz, caters to the event’s Industry and conducts independent and tour operated wine tasting experiences which incorporate the story of the Brutus family.
Seven Sisters Vineyards has and continues to host some of this season’s most inspiring events, wed- dings and conferences. Seven Sisters Wines continues to be sold in Walmart, USA as well as in Germany. Locally, the wines can be purchased from the farm and online.
In 2016, Seven Sisters launched its premium ‘Brutus Family Reserve’ range (Chardonnay and Shiraz) with its Flagship ‘John Brutus Reserve’ red blend having received 90 points from the ‘Tim Atkin MW report”. The farm offers a taste of the family’s hometown in the heart of the Winelands in Stellenbosch with West Coast inspired décor, family friendly surroundings and exclusively marketed signature house wines.
A tribute to family indeed!
